Sharing for my amazing trapper friends, and for anyone who wants to learn and get involved in helping free-roaming cats. We need you! And there’s another event on July 11 about hard-to-catch cats! Here are some tips in the meantime! https://www.neighborhoodcats.org/hard-to-catch-cats?fbclid=IwZnRzaASGiX9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEeOy_wU7bPYm3k9vxeCsUh_TrMU0DgfIWIcLxdVxlZi9w7X7wmUid8jHEj0C0_aem_eYP1Ak1zFpf6us1bLmmHsQ

Happy Birthday, handsome Atlas! What a lucky pup that you got to spend your FIRST birthday getting neutered. 🤣 Thanks for spending your special day with us! And thanks to your lovely family for giving you the gift of a happier, healthier life! (Fun fact: I have both a dog nephew and a human nephew named Atlas! 💕)

Yesterday we surpassed 2,000 surgeries in our first year of operation. This adorable boy Benny was number 2,000 💖. I’m grateful for our team, thankful for our supporters, and proud of our progress. As I always say, if each of those animals had had (or fathered) even one litter of six, we’ve prevented more than 12,000 animals from being born into our already saturated communities. Prevention saves lives, and allows our overwhelmed shelters, rescues and fosters to focus their time and resources on the animals who are already born! Thank you to everyone who makes this possible. 💕💖

Huge thanks to Jen Reeder for this incredible article, helping spread awareness about the importance of spay/neuter! I love this piece so much, and I cherish every opportunity to help bring the conversation back to prevention as the most effective way to save lives. Thank you Jen, for mentioning our work. And thank you Daniel for starting something brilliant. Proud to be a participant!

A hastily scribbled drawing of two cats on a whiteboard during a course on the impact of spay/neuter is now a tattoo at the center of a "Cattoo Challenge."

May the fourth be with you. Today we not only neutered Lando, but we also spayed a feral cat named Leia. 💫

Today, May 1, is the one-year anniversary of Operation Pawpulation’s first surgery day. We fixed six cats that day.

Since then, we've spayed and neutered another 1,800 animals. If each of those dogs and cats would have had (or fathered) even one litter of six, we've helped prevent more than 10,800 animals from being born into our already saturated community. This means that the shelters and rescues and fosters can focus their resources on helping the pets that are already here and in need.

I'm so grateful for my fantastic team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, our amazing volunteers, our wonderful donors, and for all of the pet owners, fosters, rescues, shelters and trappers who have entrusted us with the pets in their care.

I won't lie, after 33 years in animal welfare, this is by far the hardest thing I've ever done, but I'm proud of the impact we're making, and especially of the lives we're saving. And we're just one clinic in this system working to offer access to affordable spay/neuter and basic pet care services. Find the one that works for you, and please get it done or help someone you know. https://www.unitedspayalliance.org/ut/ Not one more litter...Rescues are already drowning, and kitten season is just starting.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in all the ways! 💕
