Today is National Food Bank Day! We encourage you to learn more about your local food bank -- Milford Food Bank! We are a non-profit food bank that provides food to organizations, food assistance programs, and food pantries in 27 counties in Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan, and Ohio. The volunteers and staff at these organizations and programs work on the front lines, feeding individuals and families facing food insecurity.
We have a fresh produce stand at our facility from summer to fall, making fresh, local produce accessible to everyone in our community. In addition, we recycle your cardboard and scrap metal to help offset our operating costs.
>> We are in the community... for the community... and supported by the community.
When you support us, you help us buy food for our partners, fuel our trucks, and make an impact on the lives of your neighbors, coworkers, classmates, and friends. We do what we do to glorify God and be the hands and feet of Jesus. To be part of our impact and help change lives, visit milfordfoodbank.org/donate

*Please read* We get lots of questions about the free food that we set outside, so here are some important things to know.

• When we have excess food or products in our warehouse, we set it outside and make it available to anyone from any community for FREE, regardless of any person’s situation or need, including those who are NOT food insecure.

• All food set outside is available until it's gone, and we don't always monitor the supply throughout the day. We will not respond to questions like "Is anything left?" but guests who have recently visited are welcome to respond to help those asking.

• We are a food BANK; we are not a food PANTRY. It is helpful to understand the difference. As a food bank, our primary focus is to provide food to food agencies and organizations, not individuals (the exception being our seasonal produce stand). We should not be depended on as a regular resource for groceries.

• Anyone reading this that is needing help with food or essentials is encouraged to contact their local food pantry that can best serve you and meet your needs. Find a list of our pantry partners and community lockers at milfordfoodbank.org/pantrylocations or message us for help.

Thank you, as always, for your support. If you'd like to help us provide food to area organizations, you can place cash or checks in our door, send by Venmo or PayPal, or mail to us at PO Box 116, Milford, IN 46542. You can donate online 24/7 at milfordfoodbank.org (click/tap the Donate button).

If you found this post helpful, please share it and help us spread the word. Thank you for your support! God Bless!

YOU CAN RECYCLE AT MFB!
We gladly accept your cardboard, aluminum cans, and scrap metal as donations! We have bins for these items located on the south side of our distribution center along Emeline Street. We turn it all into cash to cover operating costs, so we appreciate whatever you can donate. Please be considerate of our property and nearby residents, and do not leave trash in our bins or take items without permission. Items you donate become the property of Milford Food Bank. Thank you for supporting us in this way!
