Forever our Queen. 🤍

Today, we honor and remember Helen Hurst Brown, our very first Milan Melon Festival Queen in 1959.

Helen shared a deep and lasting connection to the festival, helping lay the foundation for traditions that remain strong today. It was truly special to welcome her back in 2023 as our Parade Grand Marshal—an unforgettable moment that meant so much to all who were there.

The festival meant so much to her, and she meant so much to the festival. Her legacy will live on for generations to come.

Our committee’s thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Easter Egg Hunt on the Square! It was a hoppin’ good time. We apologize to those who arrived after 10:45, as the hunt wrapped up rather quickly. Anyone intrested in joing the Milan Melon Festival Committee. Come to our next meeting this Monday January 12 at 6 pm held at the Milan town hall. We continually need new volunteers every year to keep the festival going.

We are a small group of about 12 members. It takes a village to support our festival every year. Volunteer for your favorite events at the festival as much or as little as you are willing.

We definitely could use a media specialist to handle our social media presence!!

Help us moving forward with our festival by supporting the committee.
