It was brought to the boards' attention that several trailers were blocking roads and that people were not allowing others to pass. The board immediately responded to investigate the situation. Upon arrival it was clear that there was a 5th wheel camper blocking the passage of the road on Dogwood Lane. Last night the owner attempted to move the camper off the property and his vehicle caught on fire, so they had to abandon the move in mid pullout. They are expected to return today to complete their move out. The police were called, and the trailer was tagged with an 8hr notice to be towed should it not be moved in that time frame. We noted on that sticker the time they had remaining to move the trailer out. The second tow behind coincidently was also attempting to move out of the community and got stuck in the mud near the entrance during the night. Without lights, the fog and muddy roads they decided to turn back. They returned back but it was too dark for them to see where to safely position the camper back into the lot, so it was parked in the road, however safe passage around the camper is possible. We spoke with the owner, and she is moving it off the property today. We were able to pass without incident. We live in a community where people are coming and going with campers and other recreational vehicles and things do happen from time to time that cause interruptions in the flow of traffic or even pose an inconvenience to our lifestyle preferences. It is inevitable that there will be occasions where more than one of these occurrences take place. We have granted the grace necessary under the circumstances however when these events happen, please move responsibly and remove obstacles from the road as quickly as possible. Should the obstacles not be cleared in a reasonable manner, the police will tow the vehicle as an abandoned vehicle. Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation in these matters.
