We are profoundly thankful to the divine for a safe arrival. JDF vehicles transporting a variety of seeds, internet equipment, and other essential lifesaving supplies have just reached Poktap. Shortly, the previously prepositioned items along with some from this shipment will be delivered to Paluony and Panyook. Following that, Jokrial and Pakam Chuaidok areas will receive supplies to support the vulnerable communities of Uror County. Our sincere appreciation to SSHF/OCHA, WFP/ACF and Clusters for supporting JDF.

Though the future of this pilot farming project remains uncertain, we at JDF are unwavering in our commitment. We double our efforts to serve our community by ploughing these 10 fedans (10.38 acres / 42,000 square meters) for the greater Payuel. This farm, strategically located near Wunbiong close to Poktap, stands as a testament to our community and JDF dedication. We extend our deepest gratitude WFP for support ERA program JDF is running. Deng Majok Riak, JDF ERA Officer, is passionately leading the way in organizing, training, and preparing VSLA groups in Padiet, Payuel, and Dongchak. These groups are growing as a promising pilot program, exploring the exciting potential of small-scale businesses and group farming in these communities with the support of capital and resources from JDF. This inspiring initiative, backed by the WFP-supported program known as ERA, shines a hopeful light on the future of these areas. Wonderful work, Deng Sam, and a big thank you to your dedicated volunteer assistant, Dengakol Aleer and wonderful coordination from JDF’s Field Coordinator, Geu Deng Awuol.

In Duk Padiet, the demonstration garden activities have now blossomed into full motion. The hoes and other farming tools distributed by JDF across Padiet, Dongchak, Payuel, and Kadiang are being actively utilized under the nurturing influence of the earth’s energies. With the steady growth aligned with the cycles of nature, it is hoped that our community will gain profound experience, rekindling the life-sustaining agricultural legacy that Duk established during the years of liberation—a true food production hub of the region. Grateful thanks to Aleer Chuol, Chol Marial and Mabith in Padiet for sowing the seeds of hope and abundance. Thanks to SSHF for supporting JDF so we can implement this project.

The JDF Office Renovation in Duk Padiet is truly a testament to dedication and teamwork! Our heartfelt apprication to our generous donors who give what they can so we can do this vital work. Thank youMakuen Dau Goi and all the incredible helpers for your swift and great progress. From humble beginnings with thatched grass and mud walls, to a sturdy corrugated iron structure, and now approaching the strength and permanence of a brick and block building—JDF is rising stronger every day. This journey of transformation reflects the spirit of love to our communities and resilience. Soon, JDF is building not just an office, but a brighter future, small by small.

The JDF Compound in Mareeng, Duk County HQ, is flourishing with the trees we planted two years ago—Mangos, Avocados, Guavas, Neem, and more—all thriving exceptionally well. However, the dissolution of USAID has significantly impacted JDF operations, leading to the closure of the facilities. Currently, only a security guard remains stationed at the compound.
