“It was the night before Christmas and Santa was busy making his rounds.
He was light on his feet making sure he didn't make a sound.

But he took notice that some homes didn't have that Christmas Glee.
So he decided to stop because he thought that just can't be.

He crept in a mommy's bedroom and stopped in his steps, as he saw a little angel hugging his mom as she slept.

The little angel looked up and cried, "Oh, Santa you are finally here!!
I've been waiting for you to help me let Mommy know I am near.”

Santa picked up the wee angel and asked him, "What can I do? I'm just a simple toy maker I can't make your mommy's dreams come true.”

So the two of them sat and they sat for a while until the tiny angel jumped up and screamed with a smile.
"Let’s leave her a sign a beautiful sign from above,
Let her know it's from me, sent from heaven with love!!!”

So Santa dug and he dug deep, in that big glorious bag that was filled with lots of treats.

He pulled out a beautiful white feather that look like it was made out of snow.
And he thought such a beautiful sign that only a grieving mother would know.

He placed it on her nightstand and kissed the angel on his head.
Then placed him next to his mom as she slumbered in bed.

I think I'll stay here with Mommy and visit her in her dreams tonight,
She misses me dearly and needs to know I'm all right.

Santa made his way to his sled, And wiped a tear from his eye.
He fell to his knees and managed to cry.

Merry Christmas to all the grieving mothers across this big land.
And let it be known your angels are with you holding your hands...”

🎁 TOY DRIVE UPDATE 🎁

Due to unforeseen medical circumstances, Kellan’s Legacy of Love Toy Drive has been extended through January 28th.

I was recently hospitalized and, out of an abundance of caution, the toy drive was temporarily paused. After thoughtful discussion with St. Mary’s Hospital, we are moving forward and will continue collecting toys through January 28.

These donations provide comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy to children spending their days in the hospital—often during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. 💚

🎄💔 Why This Toy Drive Matters — And Why We Need You NOW 💔🎄

For a child spending the holidays in the hospital, Christmas doesn’t mean waking up at home or opening presents with family.
It means hospital rooms, medical equipment, treatments, and long days filled with fear and uncertainty.

A toy may seem small — but to a child in the hospital, it can be everything.

🧸 A toy brings comfort when parents step out of the room.
🧸 A toy offers distraction during painful procedures.
🧸 A toy creates joy on days that feel impossibly heavy.

Kellan lived much of his life in the hospital. I saw firsthand how a simple toy could change his entire day — how it could make him smile, laugh, and feel like a child again. That is why Kellan’s Legacy of Love exists. That is why this toy drive matters so deeply.

This is our 6th toy drive, and while we normally hold our big drive in January for Kellan’s birthday, we stepped in early this year because the hospital’s toy supply is critically low. No child should go without comfort or joy during the holidays.

The shelves at St. Mary’s Hospital are still far too empty… and the truth is, many of the children who will spend Christmas there are fighting battles no child should ever have to face. Some will wake up on Christmas morning connected to machines. Some will be too weak to leave their beds. Some will spend their holiday in isolation rooms.

A toy may seem small — but to a hospitalized child, it is EVERYTHING.

It is hope, wrapped in love, delivered in Kellan’s honor. 💚
