Too many women in our community face crisis, domestic violence, or homelessness. The Urhobo Progress Union America is on a mission to change that through the Women in Shelter Initiative – WIS. That is why we have chosen Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, as UPUA National Day of Giving across North America. You can participate by donating cash, clothing, personal hygiene items, toiletries, and feminine care essentials to a shelter near you. Someone’s well-being might depend on it. Too many women face the pain of homelessness, domestic violence, or sudden hardship without a safe place to turn. Women in Shelter - WIS - is our response - a lifeline that will offer temporary housing, counseling, essential supplies, and resources to help these women rebuild their lives with dignity and strength.

To bring this vision to life, we aim to raise $500,000 by year end , which will allow us to:

- Secure temporary housing and safe shelter facilities
- Provide food, clothing, and hygiene supplies
- Offer trauma-informed counseling and support services
- Connect women with job training and legal aid.

Your gift matters. A donation of $100 could provide a week's worth of essentials for a woman and her child. A contribution of $500 could sponsor a survivor’s stay in a shelter for an entire month.
