The Chemical City Band has been a cherished Midland tradition for more than 100 years. Our 50 musicians are drawn from the local community, and range in age from high school students to retirees. For many years the Band was sponsored by the City of Midland’s Parks and Recreation Department, but in 2010 the City was unable to continue its financial support. The Chemical City Band became a tax-exemp
t non-profit corporation, committed to preserving this treasured musical tradition. Looking forward to our next hundred years, in 2011 we established the Chemical City Band Endowment Fund at the Midland Area Community Foundation. Our patrons are asked to consider this fund in their annual giving and estate planning. With support from the community our endowment will grow, and eventually become sufficient to fund the Band in perpetuity.
