As part of our 2026 theme, art heals, we’re continuing to share the stories of our committee members and the ways art has shaped their lives. Today, we’re spotlighting Jen Faber, a member of Public Arts Midland since 2025.
“I found this concept called Art Drop Day and wanted to bring it to Midland because I just love the idea of sharing joy and art with my community. PAM embraced the idea and I was intrigued to find out what else we could do with public art.”
When asked about our theme for 2026, art heals, and how it applies to her life Jen said, “Being creative is how I stay sane. I don't know how I'd function if I couldn't do creative things on a regular basis. Art is my therapy.”
Jen believes that everyone can benefit from creating. “Art is for everyone. Often times, art isn't about the finished product, but the process to make it. It's about playing and exploring.”
When asked about her favorite ways to create, Jen shared, “I consider myself a maker. While my go-to is quilts, I really like to try it all. I just got into visible mending. I cross stitch, make journals, make little wooden robots. I really like doing mixed media art. I take art classes to try new media.”
Thank you, Jen, for being part of our committee, community, for sharing ideas, and volunteering to see those ideas through! We appreciate you. ❤️
