I held a park cleanup event in Odessa back in May & I remember the girls saying that there was never anything happening in Odessa. There weren’t any free events in the city, and that really got me thinking about why that is.

Today, I was told to fill out this “special events” application and after looking thru every page, I learned two things:

1. My event is not considered a special event. I shouldn’t have to fill out the form according to their requirements.

2. It costs $200 to hang out in the public park.

I am well aware of the importance of having access to these parks. And the parks department is probably not very well funded, so they rely on fees such as these to maintain the parks.

And that makes me a little sad, considering that this part of Texas has arguably the most money in the state. And yet, citizens are still having to pay to have access to these public places so that we can gather as a community.

Please consider donating so that WTX Girl Haven can continue to provide free events & fun things to do in both Midland & Odessa.

COOL GIRLS ARE INFORMED

Let's talk about who to vote for this upcoming election if you live within Texas' 11th congressional district!

It's easy to get overwhelmed, so I've tried my best to break it down for y'all.

I'm making these videos bc I'm so tired of not being as informed as I should be, and I wanted to bring what I learned to y'all!

The upcoming election is happening this November, so my content will be talking about it quite a bit.
