Update
With zero funds collected, we took her anyway.
Glad we did. She has a rash in her back ankles. Because that's what happens when they stay in a roll cage for 10 plus days and lay in their f***s and urine.
She needed a bath immediately from caked p**p on her.

So were even more broke. But all well.

We have the chance to help save another pup from our local shelter

But with such a LARGE vet bill, due to medicals
We have to raise the funds ahead of time.

One of our fosters asked about saving another pup.
And even though we hesitated because donations have been low for us.

We decided we'd give it a try.
She has already named her puppy to which would be Carmen
It's really hard to tell a foster no 🥺

To many dogs are in need of saving and that's what they love to do, save dogs.

So we need to get $250 raised so we can get everything done.
More vaxx. Fecals. Monthly preventative. Puppy food.

Our two sweet pups Desiree and Dulce left on transport yesterday to head up north to our partner rescue and will meet their new families.

It's the best part of rescue. Getting them into foster homes. Watching them learn so much. Getting them healthy and ready for their big day.

And we can't wait to see their updates because their families are beyond excited to meet them.
Our partner rescue is excited and we are grateful for these opportunities.

So much is poured into each and every dog we save. And we love sharing with our supporters and community the happily ever afters.

Dandys surgery went good
She's recovering now 🥺

We were able to go visit her and give her some love

We haven't had one donation yet for her vet bill
Drowning in unexpected bills really hurts.
So like if anyone can spare so e money it'd sure be great

Y'all remember baby Dandy?

Well she's back to let everyone know how things have been going for her.

Aside of her adorable modeling skills and antics.
She's got some news to share.

Let us dive right in 😬

We are posting her photos now and all the way back to April.
To give everyone her story and we'll try to make it short as possible.

In April she came into our local shelter while we were there.
A person brought her in, found her laying next to a building at an oilfield shop.
Barely 6 weeks old.

She was vert sick. Pale gums and lethargic. Tested positive for Parvo.
Of course we offered to take her and off to the vet we went.
She was near death at this point.

She was immediately admitted. Treated and stayed for several days. It was up and down for while.
And as you know she survived 🙌 thanks to all the people at the vet.
She didn't even weigh one pound yet. But this little fighter survived.

Our amazing friend and also amazing vet tech Ashlee Pepper offered to foster her. Making us super happy 😊

Fast forward a few months.
We then discovered, she had Megaesophogus. So we got that addressed and she's been doing great on her medication. Actually it's like she doesn't really have it anymore but still continues her meds.

Thennnnn several weeks later she started limping. Front right leg had an old fracture. Pretty bad one. That already started healing over. We decided to have surgery done to hopefully correct it.

Dandy started doing great. Bit of recovery but went back to being normal play and no signs of any issues. We did follow ups and as time went on.

The fracture stopped healing and was becoming worse. The way the bones were broke just didn't allow her leg to fully correct itself.

Sooooo, today during another follow up, it was determined she would need an amputation.
If not, her leg will keep getting worse and cause significant pain and problems later in life.

Oh and she's now seven months of age and able to be spayed.

Seven months. Crazy how much time has gone by. How many things this tiny has endured and keeps going like the Energizer Bunny.

We want to thank Ashlee, her family and our vet staff for taking such amazing care of Dandy.
It's been quite the roller-coaster for her.

But she's been living a life of fun and adventures. Keeping everyone on their toes.

We've included the full estimate and as you can see, we need alllll the help we can get.
And praying our community of supporters and followers can help out by sharing.

We've got an outstanding bill currently so with this to, bringing in new dogs can't be done.

We just don't have unlimited funds floating around.

PUPDATE on Dulce 🤍🐾

She went Friday for her 3 week follow up to check her back legs.

Great news - the hairline fractures are healed per our Ortho Vet.
She is now 22.6lbs
Just 3 months old

She was able to get her next round of puppy vaxx, negative f***l.
And she will be getting her HC tomorrow so she can head up north to meet her new family later this week.

Sweetest pup ever and we are beyond excited for her.
Great job on her foster for keeping her well and getting her exactly where she needs to be.
It's not easy keeping a playful pup low key to ensure the healing process goes as needed. LOL

She once had a home of her own
Thinking she'd be there forever.

Sophia went for a car ride like any other day she goes on, so she thought.
But this time it wasn't for a pup cup or fun shopping trip.

This time she was dropped off at a city animal shelter.

15 years old.
Reason: She was digging holes.

Let's be clear here. We 100% know this isn't true. Believe us when we say that.
But that is what people tell shelter workers, all kinds of things.

After 15 years of devoted love to her human. This is the thanks she got.
Just like so many others who end up in over crowded shelters.

Sophia was petrified, shy and a bit growly at times.
Can't imagine why. Maybe because all the large giant barking dogs, alone and not understanding why this was her new "home and bed" full of strangers. People she didn't know. The loud noises there.

They brought her out in a nice blanket to make her feel safe. Due to being so scared.

Well Sophia
It's all behind you now.
You are safe. Loved. And we promise to bring back your happiness.

She has already shown her smile since being out.
And getting all the love in the world from our amazing friends at Stars Hollow Dog Resort & Grooming. 🙏

It's all good things from here on

We are in need of donations for Sophia for her vetting and some senior dog food.

We'll be setting up an appt at our vet in the next week.

Yesterday we had to get our sweet little senior Lady in to our vet.

She was not acting like herself and her foster mama got very worried.

We at first thought her kidneys were getting worse. And kept thinking this was the day we would have to let her go.

Lady is our hospice girl.
We haven't posted about her in awhile because she's been doing pretty well, for a dog of her type of medical that is.

But after running bloodwork and a complete physical.
It was discovered she has a major tooth infection.
Lady is not a candidate for a dental due to her kidney function and can't be sedated long.

So instead she got two antibiotic injections.
And then will go back on the 21st for another round of the same injections and a recheck of her tooth.

If possible they can do a quick sedation, localized numbing of her mouth and pull that tooth pretty quick to relieve the reoccurring problem she'll be faced with.

She's pretty miserable and we need to get this done so she can feel better.
Her bloodwork showed her kidney function was better than last time.
So that's a very good thing but she still can't be fully sedated for a complete lengthy dental.

So we have to move in baby steps.

These are the unexpected times in rescue with medical dogs.
They do great and then things come along.

We've had Lady two months now. She's done so good in spite of her ongoing health issues which we had no idea about when we got her from Midland Animal Shelter.

And her former family never got her to a vet to treat all her medical. And decided not to take her back when she landed at the shelter.

Now we are faced with some major medical expenses.
And have to raise as much as possible to pay for her bill from yesterday and upcoming vet appt.
