Yesterday marked the 19th anniversary of Jersey Shore Rhythmic Illusions. ❤️
We cannot be any prouder of the journey that we all made together in those nearly two decades. From our humble beginnings as a 4-H club practicing in an army base gymnasium in June 2004, to traveling tens of thousands of miles around the globe attending international competitions, there aren't too many other programs out there that made sure every kid knew that they too, could see the world through rhythmic gymnastics. Amazing experiences should never be reserved for just an elite few; rather, every single gymnast should know that the sport itself was made better for their participation in it. Rhythmic gymnastics exploded in our corner of New Jersey because of you all, and there will never be a prouder feeling than those moments of seeing our team jacket at events both close to home and across the world. The memories are overwhelming and magical and unforgettable.

Hi families,

We hope that everyone has enjoyed a safe and healthy summer (hopefully free of Covid)! We are reaching out to all our previously enrolled families to let them know of an update for our rhythmic gymnastics and acro program, Jersey Shore Rhythmic Illusions.

As of right now, we have made the very difficult decision to pause the program for a bit and take a much-needed hiatus. We absolutely love coaching, love the sport, and love all the wonderful kids. We sincerely appreciate the consistently high enrollment that we are so blessed to have, thanks to all of you. We have traveled to so many amazing places for competitions, including Australia, England, France, Oahu, Maui, Canada, and across dozens of states here in the USA. Our team has competed in huge events like the AAU Junior Olympics, state and national championships, and international competitions with teams from around the planet. We have run multiple service projects to help others, such as collecting much-needed items for Afghan refugees, the Ukrainian war victims, Blessings Bag Brigades, and the local animal shelters. Our twice-yearly recitals and annual summer camps have been highlights of our year, every year!
It has been absolutely an AMAZING run with the best memories....so much more than we ever expected!

However, sometimes with that nonstop adrenaline rush to try and accomplish so much--and then throw in a global pandemic-- it can definitely cause some severe exhaustion. We have been running the program almost nonstop for close to 19 years straight, with very few real breaks, even during the worst of the early pandemic when we switched to virtual classes. As a result, we really burned ourselves out both mentally and physically, and have had a really difficult time over this summer getting past that "perpetually exhausted" feeling. Long story short-- we need vacation time. ❤️

So for now, we decided to hit the pause button on the program and try to get in some quality time with family, relax a bit more, get some much-needed rest (and hopefully more sleep!), and re-learn how to slow down a little.

Jersey Shore Rhythmic Illusions remains an active nonprofit organization and we plan to branch out in some cool new directions down the road after a hiatus, but for right now, we hope that everyone can understand that Adrienne, myself (Lauren), and our wonderful coaches could really use a bit of a breather, especially after the added stress of the past two years.

We love everyone!

Thank you all so much for everything. Please reach out with any questions.

Happy birthday to Coach Breanna!

The Graduates 🎓
Abby, Seniorme.aaahhhbeee

Abby! We cannot believe you're graduating this month. You have been a gymnast, camp counselor, and coach for so many years now with Jersey Shore Rhythmic Illusions. We remember the first time we realized how talented you were years ago, when you whipped out an aerial that you taught yourself. 😅 You always had the coolest acro skills, and we have always been amazed at your unique and beautiful choreography. You have always put so much heart and soul in this sport. Watching you perform your routines and inspire the next generation of gymnasts has been one of the greatest joys of this program. Whether you're competing at the Junior Olympic Games or walking through the Krispy Kreme drive-through with us in Greensboro, 🤣 you are always one of the most awesome people we've had the honor to know. Love you, and have the BEST time in college!!

The Graduates 🎓

Faith, 8th grade

Faith, we are so proud of you! You have been a part of Jersey Shore Rhythmic Illusions since you were super little. You were the first gymnast to get her aerial with Coach Anika all those years ago, and you carried that dedication and determination right up to climbing Koko Head Crater Trail in 90 degree heat years later. 😅
Whether you were competing in Florida, Boston, Hawaii or at the Junior Olympic Games, you have always been such a hardworking athlete. We are proud of all your accomplishments in rhythmic and dance! Keep reaching for the stars and always stay as wonderful as you are! ❤️

Our Story

Created in 2004, our 501(c)3 and 509(a)2 organization is a rhythmic gymnastics team that has trained over 800 athletes since its creation. Jersey Shore Rhythmic Illusions is a character-building, team-oriented club, where all athletes are encouraged to support, root for, and motivate each other. Competitiveness is friendly and drives our gymnasts to push themselves beyond their abilities to become the best rhythmic gymnasts that they can be. Our team members have the opportunity to practice gymnastics recreationally (no pressure) or competitively (compete across New Jersey and around the world). Our goal? Bringing rhythmic gymnastics to ALL girls and young women to prove to themselves that they are capable of greatness.
