Today we would like to remember Massachusetts State Police Trooper Vincent Cila who was tragically killed in the line of duty 19 years ago. Trooper Cila was survived by his wife and two daughters. One of his daughters, Police Officer Samantha Cila, followed in his footsteps and is a proud member of the Middleton Police Benevolent Association. Trooper Cila, your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace, she has the watch from here.

Today marks the 27th anniversary of the tragic death of Sgt. Couture, who was killed in the line of duty while serving the Town of Middleton. The members of the Middleton Police Benevolent Association, both past and present, were honored to stand with Mrs. Couture in displaying a sign atop the Couture Way street sign. May Sgt. Couture's dedication, service, and sacrifice to the Town of Middleton never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Middleton Select Board, the Middleton Town Administrator and Assistant Town Administrator, the Middleton Fire Department, the Middleton Electric Light Department, the Middleton Department of Public Works, State Senator Bruce Tarr, North Reading Fire Department, and, most importantly, the residents of Middleton for their support in commemorating Sgt. Couture.
