✨ JADA Lesson of the Day ✨
One of the most powerful tools you have is your voice. Whether you’re standing up for your rights in court, advocating for your child at school, or simply setting a boundary in your personal life — speaking up matters.

Silence often protects systems that hurt us, but using your voice can create change. Even if it feels small, every time you speak your truth, you’re planting a seed for justice. 🌱⚖️

At JADA, we believe: Your story is power. Your voice is evidence. Your fight is valid.

The biggest EMPLOYMENT LESSON..

1. HR is not there to protect you. They are there to protect the company.
2. Document EVERYTHING.
3. Food is not a reward for hard work.
4. Do the bare minimum, or you'll get rewarded MORE work.
5. Use them sick/ vacation time/ PTO.
6. Everyone is replaceable.
7. Keep them emails.
8. Your family is more important than any job.
9. Some of your coworkers secretly hate you.
10. Never stay at one job longer than 4 years unless the pay increase is substantial.
11. Don’t let them promote you in title but not in compensation.
12. Keep your personal life private. Do not overshare.

JADA – Join Advocate Defend Act was honored to be featured at the 2025 Three Rivers Pride Festival, where we showed up boldly for justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and family court reform. Our work is rooted in lived experience and real advocacy—and now the world is watching.

This is just the beginning.
Because JADA fights. And we won’t stop.

The event brought together LGBTQIA+ individuals, allies, activists and organizations from across southwest Michigan for a day of joy, connection and, for many, a deeper sense of purpose.

🏳️‍🌈This weekend I had the honor of showing up at Three Rivers on Saturday and Grand Rapids on Sunday to represent JADA – Join Advocate Defend Act.

And all I can say is: thank you.

Thank you to every person who stopped by the tent.
Thank you for the hugs, the encouragement, the stories, the smiles.
Thank you for making space for healing, justice, and community.

The love and support I received out there reminded me that I’m not alone… and that this fight matters.

I was even approached by a current LGBTQ+ commissioner who told me I should be the next to serve.
To be seen like that… not just as a survivor, but as a leader… means more than I can express.

Every “I believe you.”
Every “Keep going.”
Every “Thank you for doing this work.”
Every “ We need this here.”
It meant everything.

This is what support looks like.
This is what Pride feels like.
And this is just the beginning.
