🚒🍎 Kids can’t thrive on Wi-Fi passwords, energy drinks, and whatever mystery snack is hiding in the bottom of a backpack.

Today, we’re spreading the word about a FREE summer meal program available to children across the area. And here’s the important part: you do not have to live in Lowell to participate. If your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, teammates, classmates, or even that cousin who still owes you $20 could benefit from this program, please share this information far and wide.

For many families, summer means juggling work schedules, childcare, and rising grocery bills. No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Food insecurity doesn’t take a summer vacation, and neither does the need for community support.

Every child deserves access to healthy, nutritious meals so they can learn, grow, play, and enjoy their summer. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is make sure people know help is available.

At the Lowell Fire Department, our mission goes beyond responding to emergencies. We’re proud to support programs, resources, and partnerships that strengthen families and improve lives throughout our community and beyond. Protecting our community means helping meet needs before they become crises.

So do us a favor: hit that share button. It takes just a few seconds, costs nothing, and could connect a child with meals they might otherwise miss. That’s a pretty incredible return on investment.

Because strong communities look out for one another. And when kids have the nutrition they need, everyone wins.

Like most nonprofit organizations, Pink Heals Northwest Indiana relies on the generosity of donations to continue making a difference in the lives of those we serve. Every contribution helps us support our mission of “Supporting Women & Their Families” by keeping our pink fire engine, “Sherry,” on the road, funding community outreach efforts, and helping us grow our fundraising initiatives. No amount is too small — every dollar makes an impact and helps us continue spreading hope, support, and compassion. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make a lasting difference!

Hello everyone! Pink Heals Northwest Indiana is currently… Pink Heals Northwest Indiana needs your support for Pink Heals Northwest Indiana 2026 Fundraiser

05/31/2026

Good morning, everyone! I wanted to make this post last night, but I felt like it would be better said if I had some time to reflect on yesterday's outcome.

As most of you know, it was our first day doing events as a chapter. I dreamt of how the first day was going to turn out, and the turnout was hit out of the park! The amount of love and support that we got at the events, and even while on the road...I was speechless!

I want to thank Sherry for inviting us to Samantha's benefit! I was blown away by all of the support she received yesterday, and I'm glad that our chapter was able to be a part of it!

To Bob & Khris, as I said yesterday: You guys have an amazing family and support system, and we are all glad that we get to be a part of that system now!

As a firefighter myself, having the support from the guys at Crown Point FD is amazing! Thank you, guys, for the hospitality and warm wishes!

While at the NWICE Crown Cruise at the LC Fairgrounds yesterday, multiple people came up to us to ask who we are, what we're about and asked about Sherry!

And last but not least, a huge thank you to Kris Osbourn, one of our volunteers, and the founder of a nonprofit called The Caring Hearts! She donated six cancer care bags to us, which will be given to individuals during visits. The bags were designed to give individuals essential hygiene items, as well as some coloring books and other activities!

All in all, it was a tremendous first day out, and we couldn't be happier! Sherry got a total of nine new signatures, and we raised a little over $100 between merchandise sales and donations!

Once again, thank you to all of you for your support! It means the absolute world to us!
