​Troop 402 had an incredible weekend at the Aviation Camporee at Waco Field-1Wf! From diving into the rich history of aviation right here in the Miami Valley to getting hands-on with aviation-themed merit badges, our Scouts stayed busy from takeoff to landing.
​A huge thank you to the Miami Valley Council - Scouting America for hosting such a "fly" event. We’re heading home with new skills, a few more badges, and a lot of great memories.

🦅 Eagle Scout Spotlight: Corbin Kachenmeister 🦅
We are incredibly proud to announce that yesterday we had the honor of presenting the rank of Eagle Scout to one of our own, Corbin Kachenmeister!

Corbin joined our troop back in March of 2018, and his journey over the last eight years has been nothing short of impressive. He has truly embodied the spirit of Scouting:

Outdoor Experience: He has spent over 132 nights camping with the troop.

Skill Building: He has earned an astounding 49 merit badges.

Service: Beyond the badges, Corbin has dedicated countless hours of service to our troop, our church, and the surrounding community.

For his Eagle Scout project, Corbin partnered with the non-profit Plaza Theatre in Miamisburg. He led the effort to build custom booster seats, ensuring that smaller patrons can have a much better view and a more enjoyable movie-going experience. 🍿

Corbin is currently balancing his time as a student at the University of Toledo, and we couldn't be prouder of the young man he has become.

When you see Corbin, please join us in congratulating him on all his hard work and this monumental achievement! Well done, Eagle Scout!

Adventure found us at Owen Sound Winter Camp! 🌨️

Troop 402: The Owen Sound Winter Adventure ❄️🏕️
What an unforgettable weekend for Troop 402 at Owen Sound Winter Camp!

Our journey started with a long haul from Ohio, and we cannot give enough thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Branch 6 Owen Sound. They were absolute lifesavers, hosting us when we arrived at 3:00 AM on Thursday night!

While record cold and road closures kept many away, those who made it certainly proved their resilience. We braved temperatures of -11°F (-23°C), but the Scouting spirit kept us warm!

The Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Branch 6 Owen Sound: For the incredible hospitality and a warm place to land.

Harrison Park & Staff: You were exceptional! Thank you for providing a great, snowy camp on Friday and Saturday and welcoming us with open arms.

Scouters Len, Steve, Lisa, and Rick: Your teams put on a fantastic Klondike Derby. Even with the weather preventing many volunteers from attending, you ensured the youth had an awesome adventure.

Owen Sound is always welcoming to our Scouts, and 2026 was no exception. We are headed home with great memories and a lot of pride! ⚜️🧤

Troop 402 would like to thank Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Branch 6 Owen Sound for hosting us during out visit to Owen Sound. They always go out of their way to support scouting and our group. They kept us nice and warm overnight along with feeding us awsome breakfast when we woke up..
