Miami Might for the Special Olympics Miami was created with the idea to infuse the competitive spirit, fun and altruism we all share, and help raise more awareness and money for the Special Olympics. Though an International Organization, here in Miami, non-profits often struggle with continuous support and influence for special needs athletes. We all could be so lucky to support those that are con
tinually grinding their way through struggles. We ask that anyone willing and excited to do so, register to compete and reach out into our circles for sponsorship; from your friends, families, coworkers, etc. Registration as well as sponsorships will go to aid Special Olympics Miami in continuing their great work!! Any and all donations, whether from money, product, time or cheers of support WILL NOT go unappreciated. As an athlete or sponsor of an athlete, we recommend issuing a promise of payment to The Special Olympics Miami Dade. Sponsors of athletes would pledge any amount of money based on what the athlete lifts in total. For example : A total of Bench, Squat and Deadlift could be 600lbs. Pledging $1.00/lb would come out to $600 that would go towards the charity event. The competition will be divided up amongst weight classes 116, 132, 148, 165, 181, 198, 220, 245 and Heavy Weight. As an athlete, you can choose to do "Full Power"- Bench, Squat, and Deadlift OR "Push/Pull"- Strict Overhead Press, Deadlift. That not a sanctioned meet some rules will apply to equipment or gear used and what will be acceptable as a good lift. So come out and get ready to push yourself, have a great time and do something amazing!!!!
