The House of Lords The Iconic House of Lords was founded in 1994 to give our LGBT youth a safe place. • The House of Lords was an idea conceived in 1994. a day.

Its purpose was to give Miami’s LGBT community a place of belonging. To this purpose, The House of Lords functions as more than just a “Ballroom Scene” House. The House grew and gained famed recognition among existing Houses such as House of Infiniti and House ofXxcentrika. The House name was chosen after England’s Royal Court and since then all members have worked very hard to be recognized not j

ust in Florida, but in other states as well. The House originated in Miami under the leadership of Father Alexis Lords. He formed it after carefully choosing its founding members, those who would carry on the purpose of the House and serve it well. He appointed Pepi Lords; one of Miami most recognized faces, for the job as Mother of the House. This job is not an easy one, since the House Mother maternally takes care of every member in the House. Recruitment within the house is done by sponsorship & vote. There is also a supporting group, those who do not walk the balls, but are there to help the House with anything that is required of them. The main belief within the House is UNITY & FAMILY. We are there to offer assistance to our members 24 hrs. We offer aid whether it is financial or family problems. We also council our members about problems that affect today's LGBT community, be it physical or just someone to talk to. Some of our members have been turned away by friends and even family. This is where we come in. Our meetings often turn into reunions and celebration, and that is why we are able to offer a consistent feeling of warmth and belonging to each of our members.

Pride Month is a celebration of love, identity, resilience, freedom, and the unapologetic power of being exactly who you are. It is a time to honor the generations of LGBTQIA+ individuals who fought, protested, survived, and paved the way for us to live louder, prouder, and more authentically today.
We celebrate the queens, the kings, the femmes, the masc, the trans community, the drag artists, the ballroom legends, the allies, the rebels, the dreamers, and every soul who has ever had the courage to stand in their truth despite a world that tried to silence them. Your existence is powerful. Your story matters. Your light deserves to shine without fear. ✨🏳️‍🌈

Pride is more than rainbow flags and parades. Pride is community. Pride is chosen family. Pride is survival. Pride is joy after pain. Pride is honoring those we lost and protecting those who still fight to be accepted, respected, and safe. It is about creating spaces where love wins, individuality is celebrated, and no one has to hide who they are.
The Iconic House of Lords stands proudly with our LGBTQIA+ family this month and every month. We believe in uplifting one another, celebrating our uniqueness, and continuing to build a legacy rooted in love, strength, creativity, and unity. From the ballroom floor to the nightlife scene, from our chosen families to our communities, we continue to thrive, inspire, and make history together.

To everyone still finding their voice: you are loved.
To everyone still healing: you are worthy.
To everyone living openly and fearlessly: keep shining.

And to those no longer with us, we carry your legacy with pride and gratitude.

Some people are sooooo funny. I was approached a few years ago by a certain individual that has changed names and Houses as much as I change underwear, to bring back a Ball that was created by my family, The House of Lords . We created a Ball called The Jungle Ball. I partnered with this individual for 3 versions of this function and cancelled our partnership due to this person STEALING MONEY from the community for his own gain. This person is so unoriginal that he has to add an "e" just to piggyback in what we created. This person is so unprofessional, so unoriginal and such a thief, that I feel sorry if anyone has donated money to help this thief throw another function under a name that belongs to us since 1997. I guess his FAILURE at creating his own brand FAILED MISERABLY!!! T-Lilboy, go back to your failed brand "The Voodoo Ball" and leave our name alone. You are a FAILURE, THIEF and CONMAN. YOU NEED OUR BRAND JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T CUT IT. YOU FAILED ONCE AND WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL. ONCE A THIEF, ALWAYS A THIEF!!!!!!
