Aslan’s foster family officially FAILED… and we couldn’t be happier. It’s more like a foster win for Aslan. 😜
When the time came to think about Aslan leaving for a forever home, his fosters realized something: they were so worried about where he would go, who would understand him, and whether someone else would recognize just how far he had come. The thought of him leaving simply became too much.
You see, Aslan wasn’t just a happy little beagle with a whole-body wiggle. Behind that wagging tail was a dog carrying so much fear from a life spent in a testing and breeding facility.
In his foster home, Aslan began learning what life was supposed to feel like.
He learned that sleeping on a bed was allowed and that being inside a home was a good thing, not something to fear. He learned that a hand reaching toward him meant pets and affection, not that he was about to be tested on, handled, or relocated to a different kennel.
He even had to learn that he didn’t need to go potty where he slept and lived anymore. For most of his life, that was simply all he knew. And little by little, with patience, consistency, and so much love, those behaviors are fading away.
His foster family watched him become more comfortable, more confident, and more himself every single day.
And somewhere along the way, they realized Aslan wasn’t waiting for his forever family. He was already home. ❤️
And the best part? Aslan isn’t the only “lab beagle” who has found his forever home. All three of the Ridglan beagles under our care have officially been adopted.
After everything these dogs have known, every single one of them hit the jackpot with families who adore them.
From a life of testing and breeding to beds, belly rubs, safety, patience, and unconditional love.
They are home. All of them. 🏡
