Due to this morning's severe weather, openings for ArcGNO Community Centers are impacted. Please note the following:

- Northshore Center will be closed for the day
- All other centers will open at 10 AM

As of now, the Fontana Center in Metairie is experiencing a power outage.

If this information changes, we will update everyone.

One of our participants, Quincy, was featured in NOLA.com riding the streetcar to a special Pride event. He rode with joy, style, and purpose - waving the Pride flag through New Orleans and reminding us that showing up as yourself is its own kind of celebration. Quincy brings a smile to so many at ArcGNO. Way to go, Quincy!

We rely on thousands of volunteer hours each year to keep our Mardi Gras Retail Store running smoothly, and it wouldn’t be possible without your support. What a wild day on the Northshore!

The ArcGNO participants, alongside our dedicated staff from the Northshore Community Center, had an incredible outing at the Global Wildlife Center in Folsom. From the moment we arrived, excitement was in the air.

Our adventure began with a scenic ride through the center, where we were greeted by a variety of exotic animals, all eager for some treats. All along the ride, animals would come up to us, and it was exciting to encounter these magnificent creatures up close.

🌟 Community Spirit in Action! 🌟

Several volunteers from ArcGNO’s Westwego Community Center traveled to Arabi to support SisterHearts Thrift Store, a nonprofit dedicated to helping those in need.

Our crew sorted and hung clothing, organized merchandise, and helped create a warm, welcoming shopping experience for every visitor. Volunteer service is a core part of how our participants build an inclusive community—and it directly advances our mission. It’s always inspiring to see how a few hours of teamwork can make a meaningful difference.

Some of our participants from the Chalmette Community Center enjoyed another fantastic outing at the Cabildo Museum. This trip provided a wonderful opportunity to learn about our rich history, including various aspects of Mardi Gras.

Field trips and other inclusive outings are a top priority for all of ArcGNO’s participants, as we offer engaging activities that foster fellowship, community, skill-building, and more.

🌟 Exciting things are happening in our Uptown Community Center!

We're proud to share that our local Dawn Busters Kiwanis is making a positive impact by sponsoring the Aktion Club, a fantastic program for adults with disabilities in partnership with the Arc of Greater New Orleans. Aktion Club empowers its members to take charge, develop leadership skills, and actively engage in community service projects.

Today, after reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and hearing an opening prayer from an Arc participant, everyone got to work on a summer art project. Our Aktion Club members work hard to give back and show the world the value of inclusion. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate community! 🌍❤️
