You’ve been introduced to our beautiful Queen and Maids of our 2027 Royal Court. It is with great pleasure that we now introduce you to our King Centurion XLVII - Mr. Brandt Dufrene, Sr.

Brandt’s life has been built around family, faith, friendship, service, hard work, and a belief that almost anything is possible when you are willing to work for it.

Our King Centurion XLVII, Mr. Brandt Dufrene Sr., is a lifelong Louisianian whose story began long before the titles, awards, and accomplishments for which so many know him today.

Brandt graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1966, where he studied economics, marketing, and financial management. Even then, leadership seemed to come naturally. He was active in student government, organized and served as president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, chaired the tutoring committee, and received the President’s Award of Merit.

But his path to success was anything but conventional.

Brandt worked as a certified welder at Avondale Shipyards and later became a fifth- and sixth-grade teacher at Paradis Elementary School. At only 26 years old, he then took an idea for a community bank and turned it into reality. In 1975, he founded First National Bank USA, where, more than 50 years later, he continues to serve as Chairman, President, and CEO.

His professional accomplishments could fill an entire evening, but perhaps more important is what Brandt has chosen to do with his success.

Throughout his life, he has given his time and leadership to organizations serving our community, his faith, young people, and those in need—from the Catholic Foundation for the Archdiocese of New Orleans and United Way of St. Charles to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Boy Scouts of America.

But despite everything he has accomplished, the most important people in Brandt’s world aren’t found on a résumé.

They are his family.

Brandt most enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Glenda; his two sons, Brandt Jr. and Father Stephen Dufene, C.F.R; his daughter -in -law Bridgette, and his four grandchildren, Mary, Trey, Sarah, and Laura.

We celebrate Brandt not simply for what he has accomplished, but for who he is—a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal friend, community servant, entrepreneur, and a man who has spent a lifetime believing in what is possible.

All hail our King, King Centurion XLVII, Mr. Brandt Dufrene, Sr!
