This past Saturday was a special SAI sister bonding moment. The kappa kappa chapter celebrated province’s day host by Iota omicron at Lafayette state University. Some of our sister got a chance to showcase their talent and share our different SAI experiences with one another. Dania and Faith represented the kappa kappa chapter with their stunning performance. Excellent job to all of our sisters that preformed.

Music Monday presents:

The Black National Anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing, was written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson in 1900 and set to music by his brother, J. Rosamond Johnson. Originally performed to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, the song became a powerful hymn of resilience, hope, and unity for Black Americans during the civil rights movement and beyond. Its lyrics speak to the struggles and triumphs of African Americans, emphasizing faith, perseverance, and a vision for a just future. Today, it is widely recognized as a symbol of Black pride and heritage.

The Kappa Kappa Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota would like to wish sister Kyla Davis and Zeta Phi Beta, a Happy Founder’s Day!

Kyla Davis is a Nursing major. This past summer, she had an internship, serving as a Nurse Technician at Ochsner Medical Center in their cardiology stepdown unit. While working, she was mentored by nurses, cared for patients and their families, and worked closely with the care team.
