We're on a mission to play games and challenge ourselves in order to help raise money and heal New England kids. We've each chosen our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Each location treats thousands of kids annually, regardless of their illness, injury or family's ability to pay. We are back again this year, after a two year hiatus with renewed purpose and a bigger more ambitious plan. We were heartbroken earlier in 2021 when we lost our son just a month before he was to be born. Through this grief we discovered, as his parents, we want to renew our fundraising efforts in his memory. So this year we are changing our name from the Granite Guild to Nathan's Night Owls, in memory of our very special boy. We hope to help other children in is memory get better and get back to the most important thing in the world... just being a kid. Our Extra Life team was originally founded when our team captain came across the organization many years ago. He himself had a stay in a children's hospital when he was only a few months old, and he made a full recovery. He remembers his parent recounting their feeling of helplessness and uncertainty watching their small child hooked up to machines. He wanted to help children recover as he did, and many of them are facing scarier prognoses. Our Plan for 2021
This year we hope to do more than one day of gaming to raise money for local kids. We are hoping to have a few events through the year where people can join us for the day or just donate to the team. A sneak peak at what we are planning includes a yard games tournament this summer as well as other outdoor games and challenges, as well as streamed play through of games like Time Stories (An escape room-esque board game), as well as some video game tournaments. All culminating on the main event in November when we stay up all night for your donations. It may seem like fun and games, but this cause is very near and dear to us. Want to Help, Donate, or Join?
