RWC 2026 Recap - Rev. Charlie J. Miller Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Our outreach includes awarding scholarships for the 17th year. Two Rev. Charlie J. Miller Memorial Scholarships for $500.00 each were awarded to Kaley Hardy of West Lauderdale High School and William Hodges, a Meridian High School Graduate.

RWC 2026 Recap - Charity Spotlight
For the 16th consecutive year, the Reconciliation Committee made a donation to a local charity. The Free Clinic of Meridian was the recipient of a $350 gift. We value the work of Executive Director Desiree Wilson and her staff for all they do for our community.

RWC 2026 Recap - Reconciler Award Recipients

The 2026 Reconciler Award Recipients are Rev. Gary Houston, Northside Nazarene Pastor and Let'Talk Founder; and Penny Kemp, President and CEO of The MAX - The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience.

The Reconciler Award recognizes persons in our community who are making strides toward bridging the gap that divides us. The name comes from the carousel horse that was dedicated to Rev. Charlie Miller in 2005; Rev. Miller epitomized reconciliation. It is intended that the award further inspires its recipients to continue in the path of reaching beyond the lines that separate us.

RWC 2026 Recap - Unity Sip of Lemonade Competition

This marks the first year of the Lemonade Competition. Local businesses and organizations prepared their unique flavor of lemonade. Attendees at the Lemonade Day event voted on their favorite flavor.

The winners were 1st Place – Sally Gulley’s Desserts; 2nd Place – Loeb’s; 3rd Place – BankPlus; and Honorable Mentions – Weidmann’s Restaurant, Mississippi Children’s Museum-Meridian, Mixed Grace Sweets and Catering, and SuperTalk 103.3.
