1996 → 2026 ❤️

At 19 years old, I didn’t understand the responsibility of being a father—and honestly, I wasn’t ready for it. But life knew what I needed before I did.

My firstborn didn’t just make me a father; she helped make me a man. We grew up together. While I was trying to teach her about life, she was teaching me about patience, sacrifice, unconditional love, and having a purpose bigger than myself.

Then, when my mother passed away, something changed. The little girl I once carried began carrying me. She checked on me, worried about me, corrected me, encouraged me, and somehow became a motherly presence in my life when I needed it most.

That’s how life works sometimes—the child you thought you were raising ends up helping raise you.

From holding you in my arms in 1996 to standing beside the incredible woman you are in 2026, loving you has been one of the greatest journeys of my life.

I may not have been ready when you arrived, but God knew I needed you.

I love you, Liv. My firstborn. My daughter. My forever baby—and, when I need it, a little bit of my mom too. ❤️

Sports gave me discipline, memories, and opportunities—but the game was only one chapter of my story. Finding my purpose beyond the court showed me that my identity was always bigger than a jersey, a position, or a scoreboard.

The game helped shape me, but it never defined me.

We are more than athletes. 🏀⛰️💯
