We know we say this every week because it’s true… but you REALLY want to be downtown this weekend. 😅

Merced Art Festival is taking over downtown with live mural painting, workshops, art experiences, and creativity happening all throughout the district this weekend. 🎨

Pair that with our usual lineup of fun businesses, amazing food, drinks, shopping, music, and nightlife, and you’ve got a weekend you won’t want to miss.

For the Art Flop, make sure to check out the map and make your way through downtown from 5–9 PM to discover a new business or support your favorites along the way!

This week, your evening walk through might include live jazz, sunset views, and artists actively painting murals across downtown. 🎷🎨

As part of the .af , 5+ murals & art installations are being painted live throughout the district, and one of the best parts has been watching the community stop, connect, and talk with the artists while the work is happening.

Take a walk through downtown this week and experience the process behind the murals in real time!

Big things are coming to Main Street! ✨
Join us for Storefront Design: Designing Storefronts for Small Business Success on Wednesday, June 10 from 5:30–7:00 PM at Mainzer Cinema. This workshop will feature Jaime Izurieta of Storefront Mastery, who will share practical, creative ways small businesses can make their storefronts more inviting, eye-catching, and effective.
Plus, attendees will learn about the Merced Downtown Storefront Program — a new grant opportunity for eligible Downtown Merced businesses offering up to $10,000, along with additional design consulting support.
Whether you own a business, support downtown revitalization, or just want to see Main Street thrive, this is a session you won’t want to miss. 🌆

Today, Downtown Merced came alive with the celebration of Lao New Year 🇱🇦✨

From traditional music and dance to incredible food, cultural performances, and spiritual customs, the event brought so much life and energy to downtown throughout the day.

Another reminder of why Downtown Merced is proud to be one of California’s designated Cultural Districts, a place where culture, traditions, art, and community continue to come together and be celebrated.

Thank you to everyone who brought this celebration to downtown and shared Lao culture and traditions with the community. ❤️

Merced Art Festival (AF) is taking over Downtown Merced May 18–23 🎨

All week long, 5 large-scale murals will be painted live across downtown while workshops, demos, junk journaling, poetry slams, gallery exhibits, and more pop up throughout the district.

Then come back Saturday May 23rd for the big day 🎉
