Trisha is an interdisciplinary artist and educator specializing in Indian woodblock carving and natural dyeing—traditional practices she studied through an apprenticeship with master craftspeople in Ahmedabad, India. In her work as an educator, she explores how these heritage practices can be shared with new audiences while preserving their authenticity and cultural significance.

During this informal conversation, we’ll get to know Trisha, hear more about her artistic journey, and learn how she brings traditional Indian woodblock printing into classrooms and community workshops.

🧵 Tomorrow, Thursday June 25 — Hear keynote speaker Naomi Smith (Chippewas of Nawash Nation) on ancestral beadwork, resilience, and Indigenous design, plus Deborah Livingstone-Lowe and Wave Weir on rethinking cloth and fashion production from the ground up. Alice Brown Memorial Scholarship recipients will also present their work.

🐑 Saturday, June 27 — Roxane Shaughnessy of the Textile Museum of Canada kicks off the day, followed by a panel on reimagining the Ontario wool value chain through history, product innovation, and regenerative agriculture. Plus the Gloria Davis Memorial Assistantship recipient presentations!
