We have an exciting news- this summer STAR in collaboration with nasa (north american squirrel association) will be offering Adaptive Biking for the community of La Crosse with the sponsorship of Move United Sport and BOEING.
We are grateful to have the opportunity for a staff training to learn about bike safety, maintenance, assessments, and fittings in order to provide a quality program with the assistance of the La Crosse Community Foundation and training provided by Northeast Passage in New Hampshire.
We are searching for participant volunteers on Saturday, May 2nd.
Participants will be participating in a mock assessment and fitting to help staff members learn and grow in a new skill set!
The session is scheduled from 10:00-12:00 pm at the Green Island Ice Arena (2312 7th St S, La Crosse, WI 54601).The assessment will be about 30-45 min each person with the opportunity to try out the bikes!
Spots are limited- please select a bike that will fit your needs and goals! Reminder- this is a training opportunity for staff, we will be able to provide another assessment day when we get closer to program start time!!
We are searching for a variety of individuals that may utilize handcycles, recumbent trikes, tandem bikes, etc. This may include individuals with physical disabilities, neurological disorders, visual impairments, low muscle tone, IDD, etc.
