🏥 Emergency room visits and injuries continue to trend down, but remain slightly elevated as tornado recovery work continues.

🪚 Use chainsaws safely. Review proper operation, wear protective equipment, and keep the chain sharp.

⚡ Run generators outdoors only. Keep them away from open windows, doors, and vents.

🚫 Never run a generator in a garage, even with the garage door open.

☠️ Carbon monoxide from generator exhaust can cause serious injury or death.

🙋 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

There are a variety of ways to help this weekend, both in impacted neighborhoods and at the Volunteer Reception Center.

Neighborhood cleanup needs include:
• Moving storm debris, downed branches, and other materials to the curb
• Helping residents move bagged household garbage from yards and porches to the curb for collection
• Cutting and clearing downed trees and limbs with chainsaws for volunteers who are appropriately trained and experienced

Volunteer Reception & Donation Center needs include:
• Receiving, sorting, and organizing donations
• Preparing supplies for distribution
• Assisting with volunteer check-in and coordination
• Supporting other reception center operations as needed

No advance registration is needed. Volunteers can simply come to the Volunteer Reception Center to check in and receive an assignment.

🚫 PLEASE DO NOT SELF-DEPLOY

For everyone's safety, volunteers assisting in impacted neighborhoods must check in and be deployed through the Volunteer Reception Center.

The National Guard, utility crews, public works teams, and other responders continue to operate heavy equipment and complete critical repair work throughout affected areas. Coordinated deployment helps keep volunteers, residents, and response crews safe.

Volunteers will not enter homes.

🗑️ WEEKEND DEBRIS & GARBAGE COLLECTION

Volunteers will be assisting residents with moving storm debris and bagged household garbage from yards and porches to the curb in designated areas.

Our most urgent donation need right now is tarps of various sizes.

Additional needs include:

• D batteries & C batteries — NO 9V batteries needed

• Liquid hand soap

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we have more bottled water than we can currently use or store. Please do not bring additional water to the donation center, as it will need to be turned away.

💊 We are also not accepting medications.

Donation needs are changing quickly as recovery continues. Please check our latest updates before purchasing or bringing donations.

The Menasha Police Department has been restocked with water outside on the front steps.

Thank you, Mile of Music Festival!

On Monday, July 27, a tornado touched down in the Fox Cities. This devastated many members of our wonderful community. If we know one thing for certain, it’s that this community always bands together in times of need. Our hearts go out to all that were affected.

🔹Mile of Music will be donating 5% of Mile of Music merchandise sales from the Festival weekend to the tornado recovery. We are excited to partner with United Way Fox Cities, the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation to understand and meet the needs of our community.

Additionally, Fox Communities Credit Union will be matching up to $250,000 in donations to support tornado recovery. To make a donation for the match, visit FoxCares.org and donate to the Fox Care’s Foundations’ Tornado Relief Support fund.

🔹TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is matching up to $10,000 in donations at this week’s Mile of Music Festival to support those impacted by severe storms and tornado in the Fox Valley. The match comes after Mile of Music committed to donate 5 percent of merchandise sales to the Fox Cares Foundation.

🔹Additionally, several artists have offered to contribute a portion of their merch sales to the cause. We are very appreciative of this kind offer & will update this accordingly. (Please note: Mile of Music does not collect a percentage of artist merch.)

🔹We will be rounding up tips and taking tips at our concessions stands during the festival (Jones Park, Houdini Plaza and Lawrence Lawn) with a portion of those going to the same relief fund.

🔹We’ll be producing a special Mile of Love tornado relief concert soon after the festival in tandem with our partners and collaborators with 100% of the dollars going to support the cause. More details to come later.

We've launched the Community Response Fund for tornado recovery alongside the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.

In response to the July 27, 2026, tornado that devastated communities in the tri-county region of Winnebago, Calumet, and Outagamie counties, the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region along with United Way Fox Cities and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation have activated the Community Response Fund 2026 Tornado Relief on July 28, 2026.

Together, we are working to move resources responsibly to support the nonprofits and community organizations at the center of the tornado relief and recovery efforts.
