Fugitive wanted out of Shelby County
[JACKSON, TN] – March 20, 2026 - The Jackson Police Department (JPD) has announced the successful apprehension of 27-year-old Isaiah Hayes, a fugitive wanted out of Shelby County on multiple severe charges involving the s*xual exploitation and r**e of a child. Earlier today, the Jackson Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit was notified by the Memphis Police Department that Hayes was wanted in connection with the aggravated r**e of a nine-month-old infant. Following this notification, JPD investigators utilized Flock Safety technology, which confirmed that a vehicle associated with Hayes had been traveling within the City of Jackson over the past several days.
Investigative leads led JPD’s Major Crimes Division to the Lincoln Courts housing complex in Jackson, TN. Upon arrival, investigators observed Hayes in the doorway of an apartment. Members of the Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, moved to secure the area. Hayes was located hiding inside the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
Current Status and Charges:
Hayes is currently in custody at the Madison County Jail awaiting extradition to Shelby County. He faces the following charges in Memphis:
· Aggravated R**e of a Child
· Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated R**e of a Child
· Especially Aggravated Solicitation of a Minor
