HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 9 PM CDT SUNDAY

Today, Wednesday July 1:
 A Heat Advisory continues across the entire Mid-South for heat indices between 105°-109°.
 There is a Slight Risk (Level 2/5) for severe thunderstorms across mainly north Mississippi. There is a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5) for severe thunderstorms along the I-40 corridor, including the Memphis metro and south along the Mississippi River. The most likely timing is between 3 pm and 7 pm with damaging winds as the primary threat.

Tomorrow, Thursday July 2:
 An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for West Tennessee, the Missouri Bootheel, eastern Arkansas, and extreme northwest Mississippi for heat indices of 110° or above. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the remainder of north Mississippi for heat indices between 105° to 109°.
 A Marginal Risk (Level 1/5) for severe thunderstorms is in place along and east of the Mississippi River. The most likely timing is between 1 pm and 8 pm with damaging winds as the primary threat.

Friday through the Holiday Weekend:
 A Heat Advisory is in effect areawide Friday and Saturday. A continuation through the remainder of the holiday weekend is likely.
 Shower and thunderstorm chances will continue each day, with the highest chances during the afternoon hours. Gusty to strong and/or damaging winds are the main concerns with any thunderstorm.

Confidence: High (5/5) for hot and humid conditions across the Mid-South through the holiday weekend.
Low (2/5) for severe thunderstorms each day through the holiday weekend.

📢 FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) Update for Fayette County Residents

FEMA will be adding a second week for Fayette County residents to apply for funding assistance related to damages from Winter Storm Fern.

7:00 AM – 7:00 PM daily

If your home or property was impacted by Winter Storm Fern, FEMA representatives will be available to answer questions and assist with the application process.

The SBA will also have representatives available to provide information and assistance regarding low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofits.

A Disaster Recovery Center has been set up by FEMA at our office, 16885 Highway 64 Somerville, TN 38068, to assist those who experienced out-of-pocket expenses resulting from Winter Storm Fern. The center will be open Monday through Saturday from 7:00am to 7:00pm this week only.
