About The Puppy Up Foundation
Back in 2006, a man lost his dog to bone cancer. Before that day, he had no idea that dogs could get sick from the world's deadliest disease--it didn't just affect humans. Stricken with grief for his beloved Malcolm, Luke Robinson decided to tell the world that cancer's deadly reach went beyond one species. He sold his truck, put his belongings in storage, and walked

across America from Austin to Boston on a trek called 2 Dogs 2,000 Miles. His two surviving Great Pyrnees walked with him the whole way. Luke founded 2 Million Dogs (now known as The Puppy Up Foundation), an organization that supports research in an under-developed area that is critical to the survival of both dogs and humans: comparative oncology. What Can You Do? Dogs and people get the same cancers. They are exposed to the same environmental toxins. They grow the same kinds of tumors. When research yields treatment for dogs, it yields benefits for people. There's a real chance that humane studies of prevention and treatments in dogs will help scientists prevent or cure this insidious disease in at least two species. The Puppy Up Foundation helps fund comparative oncology research with 2-mile walks in cities all over America. It's time to look this problem in the eye and call out a creative solution. Want to help us win the war against cancer in all species? Put your paws to the pavement and let the healing begin.
