LISC Memphis extends our sincere appreciation to all partners, residents, community leaders, and local organizations who joined us for today’s announcement of the Critical Home Repair for Seniors Program in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis. Your presence and support reflect the shared commitment that makes this work possible.

Today LISC Memphis announced the launch of the Critical Home Repair for Seniors Program, a new initiative in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis designed to help older residents continue living safely and independently in their homes. The program offers grants to address urgent health, accessibility, and safety needs in aging homes across the city.

Program Eligibility
To qualify for the Critical Home Repair for Seniors Program, applicants must:

• Be at least 62 years old

• Have a household income at or below 50% of Area Median Income (AMI)

• Own and occupy the home for which the repairs are requested

• Live within the City of Memphis

• Be current on city and county property taxes, or enrolled in an approved payment plan

• Provide proof of current property insurance at the time of application

Applicants may qualify for the program if they meet all program eligibility criteria. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis accepts repair applications via a periodic call-in process, and a new application date will be shared in early 2026. Clients will be selected on a first-come, first-qualified basis until all repair dollars are allocated. For more information, please visit www.lisc.org/memphis/our-work/affordable-housing and www.memphishabitat.com/aging-in-place-program.

The newly launched program builds on the strong collaboration forged between LISC Memphis and the City of Memphis around home repairs. Together with United Housing, LISC and the City launched 901HELP in 2023 to increase access to affordable home repair financing. This new grant program takes a step further by ensuring low-income seniors—who often face the greatest repair needs and cannot afford a repair loan—can remain safe and stable in their homes.

Let’s continue working together to build a stronger Memphis.
