Three more TN-TF1 HRD K9s have deployed to Texas to join the ongoing efforts. We wish them strong work and safe travels.

The Volunteer State - ready to help wherever and whenever we’re needed.

Early Monday, July 14, additional personnel and search dogs from Tennessee Task Force 1 (TN-TF1) deployed to Kerr County, Texas, as search and recovery efforts continue. This group from the Memphis Fire Department will support the currently deployed TN-TF1 team of expert handlers and specialized search dogs with the mission.

At the time of this post, 55 first responders and emergency personnel, along with nine search dogs from Tennessee, are assisting in Texas Hill Country. These deployments are coordinated through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).

Deployment Alert 🚨: Deborah Burnett and Hank on the ground in Maui. Hank came from a long line of bird dogs, but Deborah saw a drive in this little firecracker just fit for USAR. And while this deployment is not a first for either of them, Hank has the proud distinction of being the only Springer Spaniel in the entire federal Search and Rescue system! Strong work, team!! 💪🇺🇸🌴🐶

Deployment Alert 🚨: Bekah and Lilo on the ground in Maui. Bekah had rescued hundreds of dogs, but when she pulled 7 month old Lilo out of a neglect situation, she saw potential for more than just a pet. They began training two years ago and earned Human Remains Certification in May. Congratulations to both of you on your first major deployment! 💪🇺🇸🌴🐕‍🦺

Deployment Alert 🚨: Lt. Brenda Hartfield and Gabe are on the ground in Maui. Gabe came to the USAR Foundation 2 years ago, and quickly found his forever home and forever partner with Memphis Fire Department Lieutenant, Brenda Hartfield. Gabe and Brenda earned their Human Remains Detection certification in May of this year. Good boy, Gabe!

TNTF1 K9s deployed to Hurricane Ian October 1-11 to support search and rescue efforts. Though we are all home safely, our hearts remain with those effected by this disaster.
