You read that right... Memphis and Shelby County's rulebook for development is getting a big and much needed update!

The Unified Development Code (UDC) governs how land is zoned, how buildings are designed, and how development happens across our city and county. Our colleagues at the Land Use and Development Services (LUDS) team have been working hard to modernize those rules so they are simpler, clearer, and better aligned with the community-driven vision of Memphis 3.0.

The first public draft of the proposed zoning map is now available... and it was shaped by what YOU told us during Memphis 3.0 community meetings. Now they need you to come check their work!

We will be there too! Join both the LUDS and Memphis 3.0 Comprehensive Planning teams TOMORROW at Crosstown Concourse for a UDC public engagement session.

📅 Saturday, March 7 | 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM
📍 Crosstown Concourse, Church Health Community Room (Ground Floor), 1350 Concourse Ave.

Can't make it tomorrow? There are additional sessions happening across Memphis and Shelby County through March 21.

🗺️ View the draft zoning map and leave your comments at 901UDCUpdate.com

Crews will apply a brine mix to the roads beginning on Wednesday, January 21, and continuing on Thursday and Friday. The city plans to use 25K gallons of brine solution to cover 330 miles of roadway (one lane in each direction on designated routes).

Garbage and recycling collection is temporarily suspended due to hazardous winter weather conditions. Snow, sleet, and ice have created unsafe conditions for collection vehicles and crews.
Residents should place carts out on their regular collection day and leave them curbside until they are serviced. Collection will resume as soon as conditions safely allow.
We appreciate your patience as crews continue to monitor conditions and work toward restoring service. Please follow City of Memphis channels for updates.
