Help Us Give Our Friends at TCI Their First Ever Graduation Celebration on October 21st

Dear Friends and Supporters,

For the first time since we started our school, we are about to hold our *first graduation ceremony on 21st October!*

Most of our children have never experienced what it means to be celebrated. For a preschooler, graduation is not just a party — it is their first big milestone after two years of learning, a moment that tells them, _"You did it, and you matter."_ We do not want our 16 little graduands to feel left out.

We have set a modest budget of *Ksh 52,000 (USD 416)* to make this day truly memorable for them.

The community and the school have joyfully raised *Ksh 20,000*, leaving us with a deficit of *Ksh 32,000 (USD 256)*.

*This is where we need you.* We are reaching out to you as a friend to partner with us and bring joy to these children and our entire community.

Every shilling will go directly to:
- Printing of graduation certificates
- Hiring of graduation gowns for our 16 stars
- Special gifts for each graduate
- Hiring of chairs and decorations
- A celebratory meal for 70 parents and guests

Another fulfilling week for ECI! Tuesday, our WA Board Members attended a resource fair in effort to continue expanding our local reach. Friday, was our October board meeting followed by our October Zoom session: ABA & Its History with Autism, led by Lauren. We’re so thankful for everyone who makes up the ECI family and supports us in sharing our mission!

October is a month to recognize, learn about, and celebrate the disability community. These and other observances throughout the month recognize the experiences, contributions, and achievements of people with disabilities and the communities that support them.

This month and throughout the year, take time to learn, listen, recognize, and celebrate.

Last weekend we had a great turnout for our session on Autism Therapies led by Judy! Thank you Judy for putting together this presentation and thanks to all who were in attendance! We will see you all again on October 9th/10th for our session on ABA and Autism.

Our second day at the Ability Center was full and fun! We started our day joining the participants in a cooking class, spent time outside, and worked on some arts & crafts. We also officially signed our MOU and explored a little! The focus of this first trip was to visit the center, meet the participants and staff, and begin some hands-on training. We had some great conversations and collaborated on various strategies to support some of their participants.

And, you may recognize a few familiar faces! We spent time with Dawn, who traveled with us to Haiti in 2019, and Danielle, who went with us to Africa this summer. Danielle is the director of the Ability Center. She was a wonderful host to us and is running a fabulous program! We so enjoyed our time with these two ladies and can’t wait to come back!

Today was our first day visiting our newest Partners at The Ability Center!! This is a job training program for adults with disabilities in Ohio County, KY. It is a FABULOUS program and we are so impressed! The center is amazing, the staff wonderful, and we are (of course) already in love with the participants! Tomorrow we head back for day 2. We’re excited to share more with you about their program and can’t wait to see how this Partnership grows!
