At William’s Walk, we are intentional about the partners we align with. We look for people and organizations who are not only leaders in their field, but who truly care about our community and the people in it.
That is why William’s Walk is proud to partner with Maxwell Motorsports & Driving School, a Memphis-based driver education program that is redefining what it means to prepare drivers for the road.
Founded by Max Maxwell, a retired Memphis Police motor officer, the school is built on decades of real-world experience. Over a 27-year career, Max served as a motor officer, instructor, and member of the organized crime unit, and even trained elite units like the FBI Hostage Rescue Team. But what stands out most is not just his experience. It is the way that experience has shaped a program designed to truly prepare drivers for the road.
Maxwell’s approach is rooted in the belief that no two students learn the same way. Through hands-on instruction, simulation training, and real-world driving experience, they focus on building confidence, not just checking a box. Their Differential Driving Program, designed for neurodivergent learners, is filling a gap that has existed in driver education for far too long and is making a meaningful difference for families across Memphis.
This partnership is grounded in a shared belief: safer roads start with better-prepared drivers.
Together, we are proud to introduce Steps to Steering: 901, - A William's Walk + Maxwell Driver Education Scholarship. This scholarship program has been created to provide access to high-quality driver education for Memphis students who may not otherwise have the opportunity. This program is about more than getting a license. It is about creating independence and helping young people move forward safely and confidently.
When we invest in education, we invest in safer streets, stronger families, and a better Memphis.
