Today, we celebrate the birthday of Pastor Aaron J Litzsey, a servant leader whose life continues to make an impact through ministry, mentorship, prayer, and community service.

From The Word Church family and the Urban Promise 901 community, we thank God for Pastor Litzsey’s commitment to strengthening children, fathers, families, and our city.

🚨 MEMPHIS, WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED. 🚨
What began as a simple desire to honor fathers is becoming something much bigger. Our Director, Aaron J Litzsey had a vision and we put our hearts and hands together to launch the vision.

This week, WREG News Channel 3 highlighted the Shelby County Fatherhood Initiative and our effort to strengthen families, celebrate fathers, and serve our community. Families gathered as fathers were recognized and resources were distributed to help meet real needs throughout Memphis.

For too long, we've heard what is wrong with our communities.
It's time to highlight what's right.
Strong fathers. Strong families. Strong communities.

The Shelby County Fatherhood Initiative is building a network of fathers, mentors, coaches, pastors, officers, teachers, and community leaders who are committed to making a difference.
This is bigger than Father's Day.
This is about legacy.
This is about the next generation.
This is about Memphis.

Whether he's organizing games, teaching young people how to participate, helping volunteers, or keeping activities running smoothly, AJ brings energy, leadership, and enthusiasm wherever he serves.

At only 16 years old, he already understands something many adults never learn:

Leadership is about serving others.

We are grateful for the countless hours he has invested in helping create positive experiences for young people throughout Memphis.
