If you’re sweating just walking to the mailbox, imagine how your furry friend feels in a full fur coat! 🐶🐱

Hot temps = real danger for our pets. Heatstroke, burned paw pads, and dehydration can happen FAST — especially during the peak heat of the day (10am–4pm).

Here’s how to keep your pet safe in the heat:
🌳 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🚫 No hot pavement — if you can’t hold your hand on it for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for paws!
💧 Always have fresh water available
🏠 Keep pets indoors where it’s cool
🚗 NEVER leave your pet in a parked car — even “just for a minute” can be deadly!

Did you know that 1 in 4 dogs will be diagnosed with cancer? But 50% of dogs 10 years old or older will be diagnosed. Learning your dogs risks, regular vet visits, monthly nose to tail checks, taking preventative measures and utilizing wellness tests meant to help catch cancer earlier are all things you can do to decrease your dogs chance, but also help you catch something earlier.

In keeping with Pet Cancer Awareness Month, it seems fitting to share this infographic again!

Here are the most common warning signs of pet cancer that you should be aware of!

Don't fret . . . these are NOT signs unique to cancer! Hopefully, if you see one of these symptoms, it will turn out to be something less scary! However, we can't rule out cancer as a possibility when we start seeing any of these symptoms.

What this list DOES indicate is that if you see any of these symptoms, you should call your pet's veterinary team and get an appointment to have him/her examined!

You are your pet's best advocate . . .

You see your pet much more often than your veterinary team does! You know what's normal and not normal for them! Trust your instinct when it comes to your pet - give your veterinary team a call if something doesn't seem right with your pet!
