In view of the ever growing population near our coasts and the lack of scientific data available to make informed decisions about the management of our coastlines, oceans, estuaries, and coastal habitats, Coastal & Environmental Research Applications, Inc. (CERA) is dedicated to applying scientific methodologies and creative technologies to gather the information necessary to further our understa
nding of the physical processes governing our coastal environment. Data collection and analysis of observations are at the core of CERA's undertaking, as well as the development and improvement of observation platforms and instrumentation. CERA welcomes the opportunity to expand its efforts through new partnerships and collaborations and to promote ocean awareness through educational outreach programs that will engage new ocean advocates for generations to come. We engage in sampling and analysis of physical parameters in the marine environment through the use of classical and standard techniques as well as newer and creative technologies or methodologies, some of which are instituted or created in-house and through collaboration with other scientific groups; and in educational efforts through seminars in schools, libraries, and other public venues, and by utilizing social media channels and our corporation’s website to provide facts, statistics, and other data on current efforts and on related marine and environmental awareness and news. At times we may provide internships or volunteer opportunities, depending on the scope of a project. Our team members are dedicated professionals fulfilling several roles within the organization, each with a desire to engage in research centered in the dynamics of coastal systems and with the enthusiasm for making accessible our findings to other scientists and citizens alike.
