Caleb Goode is a young Firefighter in our county, serving on Westfield Fire and Rescue. This month, he received news that no one wants to hear, especially one planning his wedding and finishing paramedic class.
His department has a benefit day planned in November.
Please put this date in your calendar to support this Firefighter.

Please consider coming or donating to this fundraiser for Caleb Goode

ISO ratings tend to be brought up around voting season, so let's look briefly about what "ISO" is in relation to the fire service.
It's not a scare tactic. It's a legitimate, been around for decades, consideration for your homeowners' insurance based on your local fire department.

There really has been only one change since then: trucks don't start at $500,000 anymore...they start on average around $1 MILLION now.

Townships cannot create income or sales tax. Levies on property tax are really the only source most fire departments in our county have for funding to maintain and replace equipment, apparatus, and facilities.

Firefighters pay property taxes on their homes too; asking for levy support is not something we take lightly. Every option is considered before we go to our communities for financial support.

🎶 Burn, baby, burn!
But not til after 6pm.
Ohio's burn ban is in effect for the next 2 months.
Please remember this is in place by the Ohio EPA. If you have an issue with the burn ban, please take it up with them (https://epa.ohio.gov/divisions-and-offices/air-pollution-control/open-burning) instead of taking it out on your local firefighters who respond when someone calls in a burn complaint...

We've noticed quite a few AI "accounts" or stories of 9/11 that have not made their way around social media in years past, at least not that we've seen. Maybe they're true; maybe they're not.
But these images, in this video made before AI became mainstream...they hit hard.
