We truly cannot believe Buzz is still available for adoption!

Buzz is a young Border Collie, around 10 months old, who came to us from a local shelter and he’s a truly incredible dog. He’s goofy, smart, affectionate, and full of the classic Border Collie energy that just needs the right outlet and direction.

Buzz is currently in foster care with a professional trainer and he's already hard at work bulding his skills. He’s doing great with the other dogs in his foster home and has even done well with cats, something that’s pretty rare for his breed!

Buzz is looking for an active home that will continue to keep his mind engaged and help him thrive. This boy has so much potential and is going to make an amazing companion for the right person.

We lost Squirrel tonight 💔

Rescue brings immense joy, but this evening it brought profound heartbreak. At just about 5 weeks old and barely over a pound, Squirrel came to us after being found alone in a car’s wheel well. She started off so strong, spunky and full of life. But kitten health can change in a heartbeat. Tonight, she suddenly became lethargic… we ran her to the emergency room but she stopped breathing.

We suspect Fading Kitten Syndrome, a devastating reality of kitten rescue that never gets easier to face. Our hearts are breaking for the life she should have had and foster family who wanted so much for her.

Backhoe Betty here to remind you that she's STILL looking for her forever home 🥹

Betty came to us last fall from ACCT Philly. At the time, she was quite shut down and defensive but we knew there was a lovable queen behind that hard outer shell. Her foster mom put in the work. She let her decompress, built trust and got a little help from a SSRI.

Now Betty and her adorable pink nose are thriving! She's doing so well in her foster home. She explores, flirts with the people and even gets along with other cats. She does appreciate affection but mostly on her own terms. We would love to see her story have a happy ending!

Welcome Ozzy! 🌈

Look at this handsome guy celebrating Pride with us! 🏳️‍🌈 Rescue work is all about compassion, opening doors, and accepting everyone exactly as they are. We’re proud to celebrate Pride because we believe in a community built on love, equality, and belonging.

Ozzy is a young pup who was recently found as a stray in Philadelphia and brought to ACCT Philly. He arrived to us extremely emaciated, so he’s currently on a specialized refeeding plan to help him pack on the pounds in a safe and healthy way.

But despite a rough start, his spirit hasn't been dampened at all! Ozzy is an absolute goofball, and honestly, the pictures don't even do him justice… he is just SO cute and we are already completely obsessed with him. Plus, he is fantastic with other dogs!

Welcome John Deere 🚜

Talk about a rough start! This little guy was recently found hiding underneath a lawn mower in someone’s yard. Needless to say, he was absolutely terrified and reacted exactly how any of us would if a giant machine startled us.

Thankfully, he was brought to safety at ACCT Philly and one of our experienced foster moms took him under her wing. Since going to his foster home, John Deere has been really coming out of his shell! He’s proved to be such a brave boy, he purrs like a motor when you hold him and he even tolerated a full bath to get all that stubborn oil off.

At just two and a half months old, he is already proving to be incredibly resilient, sweet and adapting to indoor life. He will be neutered, vaccinated, and ready to head to his forever home in the next couple of weeks!

Alex needs a ride 🚘

After being rescued with a severe leg fracture, Alex successfully underwent surgery and is now on the road to recovery. The medical team at Providence Animal Center needs to see him for a post-op recheck but his foster isn't able to make it. He needs a lift to and from the appointment!

Instagram vs. Reality: Big Ben Edition 😂

Big Ben is a BIG South African Boerboel with an even bigger heart. After a breeder decided they no longer had a use for him, Ben came to us and has proven to be a true gentle giant he is. He loves children, has done well with other dogs, and is ready to find a family who will love him forever.

Our busy weekend just got a whole lot busier! We thought we were done after welcoming Sunshine, Spaghetti, and Meatball.... but we lost our way a bit and snagged FOUR more dogs straight out of the shelters.
