Black River Golf Course Junior Golf Program got off to a great start today. We had 53 kids attend this morning. Here are some picture of our “playing lesson”. We learned all about etiquette, playing rules, and respecting the golf course! Reminder that we have seven more Wednesday mornings left and we will be ending on July 22nd!

Cole Pernsteiner finished his final tournament round of the season today by competing at the WIAA division 2 sectional competition as an individual. Cole scored a 102. Congratulations on competing in the sectionals, Cole!

If you want to take your game to the next level, here are three different junior tours opportunities with events around the area. Playing in junior tournaments outside of the high school golf season is the best way to get better. If you have tournaments to look forward to you have much more motivation to get out and practice. If transportation to and from events is an issue, there may be other local juniors who are going to the same event. There will be a tournament on Tuesday, August 11 at Black River Golf Course through though Central Wisconsin Junior Tour. You can register for that with the middle link below.

🚨 Junior golf programs start this week! 🚨

Tee Hi Golf Course Junior program starts on Tuesday June 2nd from 9am-noon. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in on the first day. Plan for 8 weeks in a row straight through on Tuesdays from 9-noon. Our last day at Tee Hi will be Tuesday, July 21. Thank you to Medford Varsity Golf Alum Craig Perrin for helping out with the program this year!

Black River Golf Course Junior program starts on Wednesday June 3rd from 9am-noon. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in on the first day. Plan for 8 weeks in a row straight through on Wednesdays from 9-noon. Our last day at BRGC will be Wednesday , July 22nd. Thank you to Tim Rau, Brenda Medenwahl, and Jamie Chausse for helping out with this program!

Please keep in mind that by being part of this Junior program means that your child is a member of the course they participate in! They can make a tee time and play golf(walking) for no additional charge.

Today we competed in the WIAA Division 2 Regional at Turtle Back Golf Dining in Rice Lake, WI. Of all days to bring your A game, today was the day! We had our lowest team score of the year today by far! All four counting scores were in the 80’s! Grady Crass had his personal best tournament round with an 88. Our lone Senior, Cole Pernsteiner, lead the Raiders with his new personal best round, and the lowest round of anyone on the team this year, scoring an 83! As a team we tragically missed a playoff to go to sectionals by 1 shot. However, congratulations to senior Cole Pernsteiner as he is moving on to sectionals as an individual! This lineup played the majority of the varsity events this year. Although we didn’t have a strong team year according to the leaderboards, this group of boys showed positivity, good sportsmanship, and never gave up along the way!

This afternoon we competed in the final Varsity GNC meet of 2026 at Indianhead Golf Course hosted by Mosinee Golf . We struggled today with a long golf course scoring our highest team round of the year. Today we finished 8th of 8 but for the entire season we finished 7th of 8 in conference points. The Lakeland Thunderbirds were the GNC champions. Next week, on Tuesday, we head to Turtle Back Golf for regionals.
