📚 Elections have consequences.
Democrats fought to continue Pennsylvania’s commitment to fair and adequate school funding, and Cumberland Valley students are seeing the results.
Under HB 2400, CVSD is estimated to receive $30,201,850 in state funding for the 2026-27 school year ▶️ an increase of $3,856,074 (14.6%) over last year and $11,210,888 (59%) 🤯 more than it received in 2022-23 through Basic Education Funding, Special Education Funding, and the Ready to Learn Block Grant.
Just a few years ago, Cumberland Valley received relatively little from new state education investments. Today, thanks to Pennsylvania’s adequacy funding reforms and the fair funding approach, CVSD is seeing some of the largest funding increases in its history. Those reforms are part of Pennsylvania’s ongoing effort to address the unconstitutional school funding system identified by the Commonwealth Court and to distribute education funding more fairly based on student and district needs. (It’s worth noting that HB 2400 builds on those reforms rather than creating them.)
How did our local representatives vote?

Whether you supported or opposed HB 2400, these are the facts: this budget brings more than $30.2 million in state education funding to Cumberland Valley, continuing one of the most significant funding turnarounds our district has experienced in decades.
