This event is taking place today. This is a drill and drill only.

Heads up! You may see increased police activity around school buildings soon, but there’s no cause for concern.

In the near future, McPherson Police Department will be conducting a safety drill. This important training helps ensure the first responders who protect our students and staff are prepared in the event of a crisis.

We’re incredibly grateful to MPD for their commitment to student safety and for working side-by-side with our team to make sure our schools are as safe as possible.

Thank you for your support as we continue to prioritize safety through preparation and strong partnerships.

Let us introduce ourselves!

Did you know that McPherson County has a Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) dedicated to keeping our community safe? The LEPC plays a vital role in preparing for and responding to emergencies, particularly those involving hazardous materials.

What is the LEPC?
The LEPC is a group of local officials, emergency responders, businesses, and community members who work together to enhance public safety. We focus on emergency planning, hazard communication, and coordination with local, state, and federal agencies.

Why Do LEPCs Exist?
LEPCs were established under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) to ensure communities are prepared for chemical emergencies. Our goal is to develop response plans, conduct training, and keep the public informed about potential hazards.

How Can You Get Involved?
Public participation is key. Whether you’re a first responder, business owner, or concerned citizen, your input helps shape emergency preparedness in McPherson County.

Stay tuned for updates, safety tips, and ways to get involved. Together, we can make our community stronger and more resilient.

Please share our page and information as we grow within our communities.

Today, with the help of sponsorship, we were able to host an all day symposium on Human Trafficking. This was a very personal, heavy, and sensitive topic. But, this was a much needed topic with amazing information. We thank our presenters Heidi Olson and Allie Eudaly with Paradigm Shift Training and Consulting for their expertise and time educating our local industry leaders, community members, first responders, and healthcare workers.

We thank our sponsors who made this possible, ONEOK, CHS, The Cedars, Farmers Alliance, and McPherson Center for Health.
