Our pets take care of us,now it's our turn to take care of them.

Our dogs and cats are more than just pets; they are our companions, confidants, and emotional anchors. They provide the routine, unconditional love, and comfort that help us navigate life's hardest moments. Research even shows that simply snuggling with your pet can improve your mental health by reducing loneliness and boosting endorphins.

To support the families who rely on these special bonds, Wings of Rescueโ€™s Operation Pit Stop is coming to North Texas to ensure financial barriers don't stand in the way of essential care.
What: FREE spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and catsWho: Available for low-income families
When: May 29 โ€“ June 1
Goal: Altering over 750 pets to prevent overcrowding and improve long-term health.

By keeping our pets healthy and preventing unwanted litters, we ensure they can stay right where they belong: by our side, supporting our mental wellness every day. This clinic is sponsored by Wings of Rescue in partnership with Helping Paws Across Borders and dedicated community partners.

Spots are limited and appointments are required.Visit www.wingsofrescue.org/ops to register now!

New Hazlewood App Tracks Education Benefits for Students

TVC recently launched its new Hazlewood Mobile App which allows students and veterans to more easily navigate and track their Hazlewood Act education benefits.

Users receive notifications when a school applies exempted hours against their account, improving visibility and communication throughout the process. Find and download it from app stores including Google Play and Apple by searching Hazelwood Act.

The Hazlewood Act is a Texas higher education benefit providing qualified veterans, spouses, and dependents with up to 150 credit hours of tuition exemption after GI Billยฎ education benefits have been exhausted. ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ Missing the Military Camaraderie? Reconnect & Recharge with Vet Tix! ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Leaving the service often means leaving behind the tightest brotherhood and sisterhood you will ever know. Missing that daily camaraderie and shared bond can take a heavy toll on your mental health.

What is Vet Tix?
Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) is a national non-profit organization. They provide free tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts, and family activities. All active-duty military, veterans, and immediate family members of those killed in action are eligible. You only pay a small delivery fee.

Why Vet Tix Helps Your Mental Health & Rebuilds Connection:

Restores Shared Bonds: Vet Tix events are packed with other local veterans. You will look around the stadium or arena and immediately find your people again.

Fights Post-Service Isolation: When you miss the unit, it is easy to stay home and withdraw. Getting out to live events forces you back into positive, high-energy spaces.

Creates New "Missions" with Friends: Grab your local battle buddies, claim tickets together, and make event night your new rally point.

Boosts Mental Well-being: High-stress levels drop when you are laughing at a comedy show, cheering at a game, or singing along at a concert.

Reduces Isolation: Leaving the military can mean losing an instant community. Attending events gets you out of the house and back into public, positive environments.

Eases Financial Stress: Reconnecting with friends should not break the bank. Vet Tix lets you enjoy life and stay social without financial strain.

How to claim your tickets: go to www.vettix.org, create free account, verify your military service securely via ID.me, and start browsing events near you and enter ticket lotteries.

You do not have to lose the community just because you took off the uniform. Sign up, grab a fellow vet, and get back out there.
