Your Gift Is Not Yours to Keep

The servant did not lose the talent.
He did not waste it.
He did not spend it on himself.
He kept it perfectly safe, returned it untouched, and was still condemned.

That is the part of the Parable of the Talents most people skip over.

God is not only asking whether you still have what He gave you. He is asking what you did with it. Preservation is not faithfulness. A gift held in storage is not humility. It is disobedience dressed in caution.

Your calling is not yours to sit on. Your ability is not yours to hoard. Your anointing is not yours to preserve until conditions are perfect.
God does not give gifts for storage. He gives them for service.

Zacchaeus did not make restitution to obtain salvation. He made restitution because salvation had already come to his house.

From Zacchaeus' encounter with Jesus and his restitution in Luke 19, it is clear that while restitution is good, it is not a requirement for salvation but the fruit of a changed heart. Restitution is not the price of redemption.

Is tithing required for New Testament Christians, or does it belong to the Old Covenant?
