I’ve been thinking about this quote from A.W. Tozer:
“We can be in our day what the heroes of faith were in their day—but remember at the time they didn’t know they were heroes.”
As we’ve been studying Hebrews 11, something that keeps standing out to me is that these men and women had no idea their obedience would become a testimony for generations to come.
They were simply trusting God with what He was asking of them.
And it made me think about my own walk with Jesus. How often do we underestimate the significance of simply obeying God because we can’t see what He is doing through it?
Not every step of faith feels significant in the moment. Not every act of obedience comes with an immediate outcome.
But what if our obedience today is part of a story God will use to strengthen someone else’s faith tomorrow?
They didn’t know their obedience would become a testimony for generations to come.
And maybe we don’t either. 🤎
