With heavy hearts, the McGowen PTA mourns the loss of a cherished third-grade Maverick. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, classmates, and teachers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. We hold them close in our hearts and stand beside them as a community during this difficult time.

What a year, Mavericks! 💙🌟
From fun-filled events to sweet moments of connection, this school year was one for the books — and it would not have been possible without our incredible McGowen community. Thank you for showing up, cheering loudly, volunteering your time, supporting our students, and making every event feel so special.

This week, we had the joy of celebrating some of our amazing volunteer MVPs 🏆 Edgar, Rita and Nick and treating our wonderful staff to frozen beverages so they could chill out after an incredible year 🧊🥤 Because after all they poured into our students, it was the least we could do!

Thank you, Mavericks, for helping us grow a school community full of kindness, laughter, generosity, and heart. We hope your summer is sunny, restful, and sprinkled with lots of fun ☀️💛

And before you kick off summer adventures — don’t forget to grab your school supply packs for next year! 📚✏️ It’s an easy way to start the school year prepared, organized, and ready to learn from day one. We’re kicking off Teacher Appreciation Week one bead at a time! ✨📿
Our Mavericks treated teachers to a bead-tastic start with a bead bar where they could string together something special—pens, keychains, and badge pulls that are totally their style! 💖✏️
It’s safe to say our staff is looking bead-azzled and feeling the love already 💫 Stay tuned… we’ve got plenty more appreciation fun through the week! 🎉
