***UPDATE*** Bernie has been adopted!

I am a 4 year old, male, flat-coated retriever (possibly mixed with Bernese mountain dog). I am outgoing and friendly. I am good in the car and love playing in my foster home’s fenced yard and going for walks. I totally adore foster mom and follow her everywhere. And when she comes home from being away, I jump on her to let her know how happy I am to see her. I DO NOT do that to guests in our house, however.

Here’s what foster mom has to say about me:

“Bernie is seriously the best and sweetest dog. He loves any attention. He is a love bug and just wants attention and pets. But he also calms down quickly and naps after play time.”

House-trained

Comfortable in restricted area

Walks nicely on leash

Calm, sweet love bug

Outgoing

Weight: 70 pounds

Good with kids? Does well with kids 8 and older

Good with other dogs? Yes, but not very interested in them

Good with cats? Unknown

Adoption fee: $550

Medical: Bernie is taking fish oil to help with itchiness on his paws and neck.

Requirements: Bernie will do best in a home where he has companionship most of the day.

As Good as Gold will be at Libertyville's Dog Days of Summer again this year. We have had a lot of success at this event in the last couple of years and are looking for volunteers to help make it
a success again this year. You can bring your Golden or come on your own, we would be happy to have you! This is an outdoor event, and we will have a tent and tables set up to promote the amazing work AGaG does!

If you are interested in volunteering, please email [email protected] and let us know which day and time slot you will attend, as well as whether you will have a Golden with you. If your schedule does not allow you to volunteer and you'll be in the area, please stop by! It would be great to see you!

The event is from 10am-5pm both days and we could use help with setup and take-down both days.
